Camp Bonaventure Fishing & River Report - Sept 21st to 27th , 2015

September is a great time to be fishing our rivers, it brings cooler water, some rain and defiantly a nice run of fall salmon.  The second half of September hasn't disappointed us in the least, we had some great fishing over the past week and managed to land a good number of nice salmon including a couple of big ones.

The Bonaventure is low but still has plenty of water for our fall run fish to enter. We are seeing a good number of bright silver fish in our lower pools. The water temperatures in the Bony are perfect. The Petite Cascapedia is also experiencing lower water conditions and fish are stacked up in our big holding pools. We need some rain to move them around and stir thing up a bit. The Grand Cascapedia is also seeing a nice fall run, the lower pools especially have been producing well.

Gianni Marostica land a nice one, Congratulations Gianni, see you again next season.

This week hot flies have been the Red Francis, Out to Lunch and medium to big tube fly’s. The Ally shrimp along with the Silver Rat were responsible for a few more. Dries are still working especially the Blue and Green bomber. As long as our water temperatures remain in the 50`s , dry's will continue to produce.

Tom Harkness put one back to swim on the Petite Cascapedia, Nice fish Tom!
