Well here we are in August already, seems July just flew by. Our fishing continues to be great, we haven't had a blank day this season, fish have been landed every day. Despite low water conditions through out the entire Gaspe Peninsula our fishing has held up very well. The Bonaventure has been low but still enough water to allow fresh salmon to come in. The first week of July has been a good one. Most of our guests has caught and released a number of nice fish including a nice 30 pound silver bullet, fresh in from the ocean. Our average weight for the week has been in the 12 to 16 pound range, however we have a couple on the line that passed the twenty class, seems like the big ones always get away! Camp Bonaventure started our 2009 salmon season on June 10th and we are off to a great start. The water conditions are perfect and we are seeing fresh fishing entering the river on every tide. Our first guests of the year have been successful with a good numnber of nice fish landed and released. We even took our first fish on a dry on June 12th.
